Getting ready for Heviosasto fest '07

Morg hit the rehearsal room for some serious recording in preparation for the oncoming Heviosasto festival '07. Bands Medicated, Regression and Gorephilia will be performing with Morg at Oulunkylän nuorisotalo. Here's a link to the flyer: morg.pp.fi/fest07.jpg

The gig on the 24th of november will be entirely recorded and shot (hopefully) with multiple video cameras. The aim is to put together a DVD with a few songs from each performer that is then to be distributed.

So, the reliability of our equipment needed the test it had not yet received. Burharhar. To help us with everything, Tuomas, a friend of the band offered to lend us some of his equipment (microphones, cables and a mixing table). Our goal was to record uninterrupted for around 45mins, the duration of one set. On the "to-record" list were such unveiled new songs as "Monolith" and another song still under its project name "I Surrender".

After 45mins of recording, we realised that we had only been recording two vocal microphones. Which was nice, because we now understood that we had wasted 45 mins. It had all been for nothing! \o/

Luckily, a set of overhead microphones were attached to a laptop, enabling us to put the tracks together to make a fairly decent sounding recording. These recordings, out of general opinion within the band, have been denied from the public. So the only way you are going to hear them, is by coming to the show on 24.11.2007 !

See ya there!

Yours truly,
- Chris
